The internet chat anacroynm BRB means be right back. In the english speaking language, this usually means within a few minutes. But experience has proven that it can mean within a few hours ...... or even not at all. If a person is not returning, then why not say BYE, not BRB ....?????? Do people think it is more polite to say BRB, and not return at all??? There is another anacronym that can be used to denote that you will return at a later time ... BBL which means be back later. It just seems to be a very curious thing. And very rude.
